Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck Surgery) - New Hampshire (NH)

Cosmetic surgery can enhance your confidence and boost your self-esteem. If you aren't happy with your body's appearance, cosmetic surgery may be just what you are looking for. Cosmetic surgery procedures for the body most commonly include liposuction, breast augmentation, and abdominoplasty. Men and women who have excess or stretched-out skin, particularly in the mid and lower abdominal region, can choose to undergo abdominoplasty, also known as tummy tuck surgery, at our New Hampshire (NH) center. Serving Maine, Vermont, and all of New England, Dr. Richard Zeff is an experienced surgeon who can help you achieve the natural-looking results you desire. Our professional staff is here to address any questions or concerns you may have about your body enhancement options. Contact us today to learn more or to schedule an initial consultation.

The Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) Procedure

For abdominoplasty in a private and confidential setting, tummy tuck patients from New Hampshire (NH), Maine, Vermont, and the rest of New England come to Dr. Zeff's conveniently located cosmetic surgery center. During the tummy tuck procedure, our surgeon carefully creates incisions on specific areas of the abdomen to limit the amount of visible post-surgical scarring. Next, excess skin and fat are removed from the area between the belly button and the pubic hairline, and the underlying muscles are tightened and sutured into place. The belly button is then brought out in its natural position through newly tightened skin and placed in a position that complements the new body shape. Finally, incisions are closed using subcuticular sutures. Sometimes, simultaneous liposuction of the hips can help achieve optimal results.

Tummy tuck surgery is usually done as an outpatient procedure at our practice. Typically, patients may be unable to stand up straight for several days, which may limit the number of activities they can perform. After this period of time, however, only strenuous activity will be limited. Discomfort from abdominoplasty lasts approximately one week and is easily controlled with prescribed medications from Dr. Zeff.

Tummy Tuck vs. Liposuction Surgery — Which is right for you?

Before undergoing any body contouring procedure, it is important to first analyze whether the patient requires abdominoplasty (tummy tuck surgery), liposuction, or a combination of the two. At our New Hampshire (NH) practice, we help each patient evaluate his or her needs and goals. Liposuction can remove excess amounts of fat, but the procedure cannot remove loose or excess skin. Furthermore, the results of liposuction depend on reasonably good skin tone. On the other hand, those without good skin tone should consider a tummy tuck, which removes excess skin and some fat, resulting in the tightening of the entire abdomen. Dr. Richard Zeff can determine which procedure is best for your cosmetic goals during an initial consultation.
